George Shalders lived in Portsmouth and London, England. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, the British Institute and the Society of British Artists at Suffolk Street. His subjects were mostly landscape in Wales, Ireland and Surrey, and occasionally on the Continent. His work is conventional and always attractive. Works by him are in the collections of the Walker Art Gallery and the Victoria & Albert Museum in England.
