John Dawson Watson - Little Girl Sewing

1856
oil on board with an arched top
12.5 x 10 1/4"
An early work but to my mind very charming (I never could resist cats!) with some Pre-Raphaelite influences in its acute onservation and colouring. The pretty little girl with the intense red hair occurs in other paintings of his and may have been one of his family.
