Brockton Field Hospital (October 8th, 1918). Set up to deal with patients suffering from the Spanish Flu pandemic

Where was Brockton Field Hospital? And why did they not use ordinary hospital buildings with ordinary wards - too many patients to service at one time?

Brockton is in Illinois. My guess is this gave them isolation as it was so infectious
